RAD
Rudd

By adopting new FET, it realizes torqueful output characteristics!
In addition to the pyramid shape design that produces a higher fan cooling effect,
it is a high-end brushless ESC equipped with a reverse connection protection circuit.

FEATURES

● New FET adopted for high torque output characteristics

By adopting a new power type FET, we have achieved more torqueful output characteristics while inheriting the silky feeling unique to Accuvance.
It responds well to aggressive throttle work even from low speed range, enabling delicate and dynamic driving.

● Equipped with a reverse battery connection protection circuit and an "alert LED" when the battery is reverse connected

Equipped with the popular battery reverse connection protection circuit from XARVIS XX.
Of course, it also has an "alert LED" that notifies of reverse connection. It prevents damage to the ESC board caused by reverse connection for about 10 seconds.
*This circuit protects the ESC circuit board. It does not guarantee protection for the Chevalier series, standard capacitors, or external devices.

● PYRAMID SHAPE design for better cooling effect when equipped with FAN

The world's first pyramid-shaped top panel design
is designed to forcibly ventilate the air to the bottom and all four sides, suppressing the rebounding air (disturbance of the airflow on the top panel) caused by the fan, resulting in a higher cooling effect and reduced load on the fan motor.

● Hologram cutting

Holographic cutting technology is used for the aluminum cutting process on the top surface,
creating a more dazzling and luxurious feel.

● Equipped with the [Torque Level] and [Torque End Point] functions installed in XARVIS XX

By using a TAOIII or S.BUS compatible transmitter described below, you can use the [Torque Level] and [Torque End Point] functions installed in the XARVIS XX.
[Torque Level]...Adjusts the torque feeling of acceleration and deceleration.
[Torque End Point]...Sets the throttle range in which the torque level function operates.
*The torque level and torque end point functions cannot be set or are inaccurate when using our motors prior to LUXON BS or motors from other companies.

● Supports setting changes using TAOIII

RADAlthough simple setting changes are possible with the SET button on the main unit,
by using TAOIII, the items and values that can be set will be greatly expanded, and drivability will be dramatically improved.
*TAOIII (shipped by our company before May 2022) requires an update
. After updating, use the "ESC SELECT" command on TAOIII to "RAD(MC971CR)".

● Wireless communication is possible using a FUTABA S.BUS compatible transmitter.

If you are using a Futaba Corporation S.BUS compatible transmitter, you can connect a separately sold S.BUS adapter ( OP-15127 , OP-15123 , or OP-15067 ) to use the transmitter's LCD screen to change setting data and to use the telemetry function to display motor RPM, ESC temperature, battery voltage, etc. in real time on the transmitter.

  • * An update of the S.BUS link adapter (for products shipped by our company before mid-June 2022) or S.BUS adapter (all applicable) is required.
  • * To update the S.BUS adapter, you will need the Windows PC Update Device Kit II ( OP-15064 ) or III ( OP-15087 ) as well as the separately sold "S.BUS adapter update conversion cable ( OP-15095 )."
  • *Please contact Futaba Corporation for compatible transmitters. (You may need to update your transmitter.)
Please note that you cannot save setting data in the transmitter , so please use TAOIII to save and manage setting data.
  • *Depending on the contents of future updates, the items that can be set using TAOIII may differ from those that can be set using a FUTABA S.BUS compatible transmitter.
● LEDs allow you to see when boost/turbo is not in use

When boost or turbo is not in use, the standby LED flashes, complying with regulations such as touring competitions that restrict the use of these functions.

[About handling aluminum case products]

Products with aluminum cases have some sharp edges due to the cutting process, so please be careful when installing them in a vehicle or changing the layout.

[Important]
If you connect a fan made by another manufacturer to the fan power terminal installed on our ESC, the fan or ESC may be damaged due to factors such as insufficient fan motor specifications. If you are installing a fan made by another manufacturer, please make sure to supply power from the receiver.

UPDATERAD/ S.BUS adapter update

UPDATE

RADYou can enjoy the latest functions and feel by updating the firmware (control program).
First, refer to here , and when you are ready to update, follow the steps below to update.

[1]RAD/ Install the firmware update tool for the S.BUS adapter on your PC.

Acuvance Update Tool Ver.1.0.9 (Release date: March 4, 2024) ZIP Download

Ver.1.0.9: Minor corrections to text notation. (No changes in functionality from Ver.1.0.8.)
Ver.1.0.8: Supports Windows 11.
Ver.1.0.7: Added TAOIII to the list of update-compatible products.

*The rewriting tool is the same as that used for XARVIS and AIRIA.

[2]RAD/ Download the latest firmware for the S.BUS adapter to your PC

[Caution]
① The setting data in the RAD will be reset by the update.
We recommend that you make a note of it in advance or save it to TAOIII.
② When using for the first time after completing the update, please perform the initial settings of the throttle position (ESC instruction manual P.6) twice (depending on the setting state of the transmitter, the neutral position may not be correctly memorized with one initial setting only immediately after the update).
③ If the initial settings of the throttle position are not completed, the MC link with the transmitter may not function properly.

[Important] If the MC link does not function (the setting data cannot be loaded into the transmitter) even after performing step ② above, load any of the preset programs in ESC mode (see RAD instruction manual P.12/MC971CR P.14), or send any of the preset data in TAOIII to the ESC before use. (
This operation is not necessary after performing this operation once immediately after updating.)

Ver.F3.11: Fixed a bug where the MC link would stop functioning when executing the "Reset" command displayed on the transmitter after loading ESC data with the MC link of Futaba transmitters (T10PX and T7PX series).
*By executing the "Reset" command, you can initialize the ESC setting data to the factory settings. If you do not use the "Reset" command, there is no problem if you do not perform this version upgrade.

Ver.F3.10: The setting range of drive frequency, turbo timing, turbo on slope, and turbo off slope has been expanded.

[Expansion contents]
[Drive frequency]
In addition to the conventional 1-16kHz (1kHz step) and 18-32kHz (2kHz step), 35, 38, 42, 48, 55, and 64kHz have been added
⇒ By setting it to a high frequency, more linear and fine throttle work is possible.

[Turbo timing]
In addition to the conventional 0-30° (1° step), 31-60° (1° step) has been added
⇒ It is possible to further increase the maximum rotation speed.
* If an extremely high value is set, depending on the gear ratio, number of turns, road grip conditions, etc., excessive load may be placed on the ESC and motor, so gradually increase the value while checking the heat state of the motor and ESC.

[Turbo on slope]
In addition to the conventional 1-25deg/0.1sec (1deg/0.1sec step), 26-50deg/0.1sec (1deg/0.1sec step) has been added
⇒ By increasing the value, the time to reach the maximum RPM is shortened, resulting in a quicker RPM increase

. [Turbo off slope]
In addition to the conventional 1-25deg/0.1sec (1deg/0.1sec step), 26-50deg/0.1sec (1deg/0.1sec step) has been added
⇒ By increasing the value, the time from turbo on to turbo off is shortened, resulting in a quicker RPM drop .
*As long as the machine posture is not disturbed by sudden deceleration, there are cases where it is better to increase the turbo off slope value and decelerate to a lower RPM before accelerating again, as this can result in a more stable forward movement and a better feeling for the car.

[Important ①] You
also need to update TAOIII
. If you use TAOIII without updating it, you can preview the ESC setting data regardless of the ESC settings, but if the previewed ESC setting data contains an extended value , a specific value (※) will be displayed in the corresponding item, and you will not be able to change the setting of that item .
(If the previewed ESC setting data does not include the extended values, it can be used normally.)

(*) Values displayed on TAOIII when previewing setting data including extended values
[Drive Frequency]
0.5kHz
[Turbo Timing]
0deg
[Turbo On Slope / Turbo Off Slope]
0deg/0.1sec

[Important ②]
[MC Link Function with FUTABA Transmitters]
[T10PX/T7PX(R)]
Starting with T10PX Ver.10.0 (released 2024.1.26)/T7PX(R) Ver.13.0 (released 2024.3.18), it is now possible to change the extended setting range values for RAD Ver.F3.10 and later on the transmitter.
For information on updating the T10PX/T7PX(R), please refer to the FUTABA website.

[T4PM (PLUS)]
The setting range extension part of RAD Ver.F3.10 and later does not support FUTABA's MC Link, so there are some restrictions on settings via the transmitter.
If you are using T4PM (PLUS), please be sure to read the following before updating to Ver.F3.10 or later.
- The telemetry system displayed on the transmitter screen, such as RPM and motor temperature, will function as before.
- If the setting value in the ESC includes an extended value, an error will occur when loading the setting with the transmitter, so please change the setting with TAOIII.
- If the setting value in the ESC does not include an extended value, the setting can be changed with the transmitter as before. (The extended range value cannot be changed with the transmitter)

*When using the S.BUS system with RAD, you will need to update the various S.BUS adapters (OP-15067, OP-15127, FUTABA SBM-1) to the following firmware.
*The S.BUS-TAOIII autolink adapter (OP-15123) already has the same functions as the firmware below installed.
*When using the S.BUS system,RADSwitch the setting mode (Instruction Manual, p. 10) to Link mode.

[Important]
The S.BUS-TAOIII autolink adapter (OP-15123) is equipped with a dedicated firmware that adds a link control program with TAOIII to the functions of Ver.B3.0.
Please note that if Ver.B3.0 is installed on the S.BUS-TAOIII autolink adapter, the link with TAOIII will no longer function.
If Ver.B3.0 is installed on the S.BUS-TAOIII autolink adapter, updating to the official firmware again will restore normal operation.
We will send you the firmware for the S.BUS-TAOIII autolink adapter (OP-15123) by email, so please contact us using the inquiry form at the bottom of this page.

When updating the S.BUS adapter (OP-15067, OP-15127, FUTABA SBM-1), in addition to the Windows PC and Update Device Kit II (OP-15064) or III (OP-15087), you will need the separately sold "S.BUS Adapter Update Conversion Cable (OP-15095)".
Since you will need to update the S.BUS adapter in the future when adding new functions to the ESC, we recommend that you also have the conversion cable along with the update device kit.
