Toyota GR86
24KRC introducing the GR86 is of course the successor to the GT86 that people drove for the first time ten years ago on a small circuit in the Japanese forests. The 86 was new to the Toyota lineup for 2017, but most gearheads know it was basically a facelifted and renamed FR-S rescued from the shuttered Scion brand. That said, the 86 did have genuine Toyota roots: It's named after the AE86, model code for the last rear-drive version of the Corolla, a drifter's favorite. Though rooted in Toyota history, the 86/FR-S was developed in conjunction with Subaru, which sold its own version called the BRZ. Any Subaru enthusiast will recognize the brand's handprints including the no-nonsense interior, but Toyota fans can argue that they hold a legitimate claim to the car's pedigree.
